About Our Job
Testing/Interviews:There is a two-part test prior to interview – a complete Pre/Post Trip and Driving Test must be passed to Interview. All are held on the same day. The truck used for the test is a right side drive automated collection vehicle.Invitations are sent via email – please double check your email address on your application and monitor your in box.

The Solid Waste Division collects trash and recycling for 176,000residences. We are looking for CDL drivers who are interested inwork/life balance and stable employmentwhere you can build a career.In addition tothepackage below,Solid Waste Management employees arescheduled 80 overtime hours a year and receive an annual uniform allowance.

Herearethe primary duties:
Full range of operations on the automated side-loader trash/recycling/compost trucks.
Inspect equipment to ensure proper working order.
Observe all common safety practices associated with equipment operations.
General laboring for projects to which the equipment is assigned.
Trains less experienced employees.
May participate in snow removal duties.
About You

Our ideal candidate will have:
One year CDL B trash truck experience; and/or right side drive, automated side load cart collection experience or cross training.

Education Requirement:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED,HiSET, orTASCCertificate or one additional year of the required work experience (as a CDL B driver).

Experience Requirement:
Three years of experience as Senior Utility Worker (Laborer)
Two years of experience as an Equipment Operator in the Career Service system. (non-City employee CDL B Driver)
700 hours of Equipment Operator Specialist differential.(onlyCity of Denver employees will have this)

Licensure and/or Certification:
Requires a Class-B Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements.
Requires Air Brake (L) endorsement.
License must be kept current as a condition of employment
